I founded Blooming in the Heart's Garden while in isolation during the pandemic in December 2020. I found myself in salutation asking God - 'who am I?' Marriage was my ultimate goal - love was my ultimate goal, but why was I feeling empty inside? This is when I leaned in to curate 'The Love Letter Community' because I needed a safe, inviting and inclusive space to process my internal world. When shared with girlfriends, the turbulent storm of my chaotic creativity was harmonized with weekly, 1 hour conversations throughout the pandemic. A compassionate journey that resurfaced ideologies around identity and my all-providing woman body was mirrored by the journeys of the women the community and I met from all over the world. As I shared online, my friends, old colleagues, and those experiencing grief and desiring companionship started connecting and suddenly - I had a community of women and men who were allies, and mirrors. This sacred space bloomed into 'Blooming in the Heart's Garden' in 2023 with our inaugural day retreat in Thornhill supporting Sakeenah Canada.
