EMBRACE
your
        DIVINE POWER
through ART.

Picture

In celebration of working inwards, I have put together a series of workshops that you can take weekly to implement self-compassion, self-care, and attain greater power from your divine power (the light within). Many of us have become prone to understanding the world tangibly. In doing so, we have become distant from our spiritual power and emotional well being. The Holistic Henna Workshop will allow you to discover your truth and encourage your vulnerabilities to surface through your beautiful ART.

My name is Saira Hussain and I am a Holistic Henna Practitioner, Art Director, Women's Stylist & Feminine Power advocate. I do quite a bit on my own and have worked long hours through the art, wedding, women and now wellness community to grow my field of work as not just a Henna Artist but an Art Therapist & Healer (some titles I have been gifted by encouraging loved ones and magical wanderers). Some of my greatest connections have developed through the consultation period of speaking to Brides, new Henna Artists and energy seekers. I am grateful to the multinational publications that have featured my work and my flourishing communities who have given me a platform to share my learnings and experiences.

For this workshop, please bring yourself.

WHY CHOOSE THIS WORKSHOP?

Art is our greatest tool in voicing our emotions and providing them a platform to breathe freely. It is important to build a passion or have a creative outlet (writing, drawing, painting, dancing, poetry) to help declutter our minds and decrease the burden on our bodies. If you are feeling weighed down and are unable to channel your happiness and find joy while facing a mind block in your day, this workshop is for you. If you are someone who used to walk freely and is facing a creative block or feelings of discouragement from your inner voice, this workshop is for you. You do not need an artistic talent to take this workshop; you being human is your best form of creative expression.

Please answer the following questions in your JOUNRAL:

How are you doing today?

In your day, how do you care for your mind, body & soul?

Are you taking care of your mind, body and soul?

How is your mental health?

Are you sleeping well?

Are you finding it hard to voice your emotions?
=

Are you reacting to the noise in your mind?
Are you ready to take control of your life?

Are you ready to use your divine light (your powers)  to see your true reflection?

DESTINY

THE COMPONENTS:

Self-love: The gift of wellbeing, which is delivered to the vessel, spirit and mind by the owner her/himself. You are the owner of your own body, mind and spirit (the Universe has a lot to do with this). Self-love associates with rest, nurturing oneself with empathy and encouragement. Allow yourself to reflect on moments of joy, celebration, the feelings of a loving embrace (even if that was from a stranger).

Self-compassion: The ability to extract self-esteem and the ego so that we are able to connect with our heart and womb space. One of my mentors Dr. Darmoni speaks about the Divine Dance with the self. Encourage yourself to channel your Divine Light by first releasing your day's tasks, simply be here; be with your own breath. When you connect with empathy, you begin to evolve with your heart and your mind begins to propel positive thoughts. In my Holistic Henna workshops, I will be teaching you ways to shift your pain, grief through the creative form of expression. Now pick up your medium (henna, pen, pencil) of choice and write down your words of beauty and fulfillment.

REGISTER NOW:

For more details on our 6 week program, join us for the SELF-WORTH Masterclass in November.

Grieving can be difficult when done alone, which is why Art is made to help you. You will also be learning about how to build your own unique style of work and connecting with your DIVINE LIGHT.

Once you have registered, we will send you a Love Letter to your Self-Worth and a worksheet

"We have intuition and femininity to guide us in our darkest days.
Let us embrace our trueness and divine power.
Let us be feminine."

LOVE LETTER WORKSHOP

WOMENS WEEK SIX- April 29th 2020
Host: Saira Hussain of Breath of Henna
Co-host: Sarah Devika (CEO of Urban Minerals & soon to be Reiki Master)

Welcome back to our sacred community of women.

You are here because you are experiencing your FEMININE POWER.

Our experiences resonate with us due to the emotional understanding and connections built deep inside. We are experiencing more than just life. We are beginning to build relationships with a higher power, a language of love and empathy. This is your divine light; your femininity. Our instincts have helped our inner child move forward with a 'do all, end all' mentality as most of us were raised under protective households. We had allowed our society to focus on producing results; which submerged our femininity along the shores of anxiety, guilt, shame and depression.

We are an ever growing community of women who are built from strength, compassion and have the capacity to adapt to change. As we enter our sixth week of quarantine, I would like to suggest that we all take a moment to appreciate how far we have come. Let us face the patriarchal routines we have so
While we face new challenges of adapting to our present state, we must remember that there is a voice inside us that has been knocking at our door with unconditional love and she has been patient. Let us hear her speak.

Beauty is seen vastly in a world where we too can express it, but face difficulty when expressing our own form of it. The power in acknowledging your femininity shines a light into your intuitive thinking and self worth.

I met Sarah at a Toronto pop-up in 2016 & was intrigued by her encouraging laughter and purposeful passion in creating her one of a kind, Canadian made cosmetics line. She has accomplished so much with her brand in under the 4 years that I have known her and we have worked together in creating purposeful art with the abundance of our feminine light. While being in the creative industry, we both love adorning women who are letting their emotional intelligence direct their lives. Sarah and I presently working on developing a profound and forgiving relationship with ourselves while discovering our Feminine Power.

Sarah Devika is an incredible woman of influence as she embraces self worthiness, an abundance of positivity & encouragement through her vegan; cruelty-free beauty brand Urban Minerals. Her beauty brand is growing vastly across North America with so many positive results. What I love about her lipstick is that it's vegan and she enhances the experience with Reiki (as she too is on her journey in becoming a Reiki Master). All her products are made with intention, hence I cannot get enough!

Sarah and I will be discussing the influences of the Feminine Power and how we can further build a deeper understanding of our divine light. Sarah will also be teaching a 5 minute tutorial on how you can enhance your Femininity with makeup. We will then complete the workshop with a group Love Letter written by yours truly, which you can also share with your circle.

Nurture is your Nature

A personal entry on my connection with Henna

Written by Saira Hussain

To my dearest self,

Why are you so dependent on exterior sources of motivation when you yourself are an awakened state.
Your talents keep others quiet and then when you wish to speak about your most cherished moments they respond only to disappoint?

Why is it that to your closest choose to crouch in vein when you reveal reality? A bitter truth about their present situation, an opinionated realization of their mistakes or negative habits which are further propelling them to their darker stages in life. Why do people disagree to agree after realms of conversations change tone but the answer is still the same? We, as humans are the most complex breed here on earth but we are not alone. We are given forms of recovery with the abundance of earth's very own; EARTH.
Picture
Nature has a presence unlike no other creature. It grows in the coldest and hottest of climates, sheltering us in the storms but also guiding us with fuel and prosperity to look forward to a newer and brighter day. I never knew of my motive to adorn until I sat in reflection after two back to back brides (Gold and Platinum) in June 2018. I have been practicing with henna in the Arts as well as in the wedding industry but never within therapy. But wait, I did practice henna through therapy; my thesis at OCAD University in 2007-2013. Yes it took me a few extra years to graduate but that is because I was financially unable to sustain my education and my mental health. Henna was that medium that brought me back to my senses to overcome my anxiety but also provide me a sense of home and guidance.

“I believe in love.
I believe in hard times and love winning.
I believe marriage is hard.
I believe people make mistakes.
I believe people can want two things at once.
I believe people are selfish and generous at the same time.
I believe very few people want to hurt others.
I believe that you can be surprised by life.
I believe in happy endings.”

The very thought of believing in something, someone, some place, a moment, a time, a feeling, ANYTHING can take greater shape in the future than we can imagine. Knowing that I came from somewhere; two beautiful humans who came from a side of the world that I have never swallowed on my own, is difficult to believe. My roots are Pakistani but I was born on Canadian grounds. Civilized adults act respectfully but I had a hard time coping with who I was and had an even harder time respecting and appreciating my living standards. My time was short during academic hours; I could feel an expectation calling my name miles before it even sunk into my brain and bursted onto the one-hundred pound paper through my micron ink pens and led. I couldn't draw what the class expected me to do, I did what I felt was needed. I passed with flying colours and numbers began to sink as my financial situation was sinking deeper and deeper. I was low on fuel and so I began disappearing from classes as I didn't have enough to sustain my mind; my creativity.

My professors loved and supported my innovation but when it came to judgement day, they wouldn't see me till hours after. This lead to my depression and anxiety overload. I could no longer outline contrast nor shade; all my work looked the same because I resorted to what I was taught to believe in; my religion. This was not the route I was expected to take but a journey I had to pass as 'expected' was not simply a phase but a challenge in every part of my life.

My culture changed my life; my perspective on life of all that I absorbed and reflected time and time again. I finally understood the meaning of my time and vastly, my purpose. I was here as a medium; an abundance of light and prosperity for others and I wanted to create a continuous path, an infinite path of existence to help heal those around me. When I had completed 'O' I sighed in relief as I lay my last henna cone on the ground. My fingers were bruised and they were numb. I could not feel my neck for days as I prepared my stretchers and costs for the final viewing for OCAD University's Annual Grad Exhibition. I was so happy to have completed it all.

I realized I had composed a verse from a void that filled most of our souls.

A void of unsurprised guilt and self doubt.
An emptiness that each of us suppress due to its uncertainty and disappointed expectations.

My one medium emitted more than it's history but a healing from the earth unknown to anyone until it was revealed in its true state; a liberation of the arts. The repeated patterns danced as I watched the wheel of opportunity extend it's patterned movement towards the light and shadow. It represented change and reflection. It became my mantra and an existence that I now share today with you.
