Welcome back to our sacred community of women.
You are here because you belong.

Thank you for living in your present; sharing your powerful stories with your hearts. You have transformed this community of empowered women with your vulnerability and your choice to grow. Can you believe it has been 10 weeks of writing love letters together as a community? Our letters have gone as deep as to speak about grief, forgiveness, self worth and reclaiming our feminiity, courage, facing our fears and being kind to our bodies and minds. You are valued here because you have helped to paint the Universe of our sisterhood with your encouraging spirit. Even though we face challenges individually, it is passion that has helped us further connect and build relationships of self-compassion and strength. It is community that has allowed us to lead with example and live our lives freely.

To the women that have come on every week in celebration of self love, may you continue to blossom into the truest form of yourself. I too grieve, mourn, dance with the inner self and reflect. I too am human. This platform was created in celebration of sisterhood and to provide our emotions with a sacred space for empathetic dialogue.

We are an ever growing community of women who are built from strength, compassion and have the capacity to adapt to change. As we complete the tenth week of quarantine, I would like to suggest that we all take a moment to appreciate how far we have come. Let us face the patriarchal routines with our feminine powers and decipher new challenges with solutions for our betterment. We must remember that there is a force inside us that has been waiting in our hearts with unconditional love and she has been patient. Let us hear her speak.

'DEAR COMMUNITY..'

Picture

My woman of influence for WEEK TEN of the Love Letter Workshop is Trisha Sakhuja-Walia, CEO and boss-babe of BROWN GIRL MAGAZINE. Trisha and I connected years ago through the submission process of many incredible editorials featuring the narratives of women. As an art director and women's stylist, I too wanted to share my work with a community who believed in equality and diverse dialogue. I wanted to know why she had joined the platform and when she decided to transform her life from being a journalist into being one of the voices for one of the most current and inspiring leading South Asian platforms.

WORDS of encouragement from Trisha Sakhuja-Walia, CEO of BGM:

'Community is the reason we are who we are at Brown Girl. It gives us purpose and reason to belong and thrive. Her story began in 2011 when she was searching for a platform to write for during her journalism class on Facebook. She never thought this would take over her life and provide her with a career and an opportunity to grow and expand on a platform destined to make waves in the South Asian diaspora.' Brown Girl Magazine has always been an online, but with their many encouraging public events, they are now working further on connecting with their flourishing audiences with webinars, and socials. Trisha and her team are working towards becoming the MEDIUM.COM for South Asians. How inspiring and the time couldn't have been better!

Join Saira Hussain, Founder of the LOVE LETTER WORKSHOP & the community of BROWN GIRL MAGAZINE as we share our stories to increase the positive vibrations emitted by the encouragement of practicing love letter writing and being vulnerable.

Thank you to the sisterhood; women of influence for sharing your passions every week. Your vulnerability has strengthened so many women around the world. May we all get through these hardships and continue to travel together with our inner light and connection.

WOMENS WEEK NINE - MAY 20th 2020
Host: Saira Hussain of Breath of Henna
Co-host: Brittany Churchill (Women's Health Advocate, Cancer Survivor & Spokesperson)

Welcome back to our sacred community of women.

You are here because you are facing your fears.

It's been challenging while having to pivot our directions in business, family reunions & moulding our homes to encompass our work life, family life, personal life & love life. Whatever it may be, while being in quarantine we have seen so much in just under 10 weeks. The world is changing as our minds and bodies are developing new patterns to grow and enjoy the abundance of life itself.
But how do we move forward? How do we face our fears in times when darkness bends the wave of hope; our inner light? This week on the Love Letter Workshop, I would like you all to meet my woman of influence, BRITTANY CHURCHILL. An angelic spirit and courageous woman who has opened her heart while sharing her story. Brittany is a women's health advocate and cancer SURVIVOR.

"The word COURAGE to me is really showing up for yourself, facing your fears & recognizing undeniable truths. After facing illness & cancer treatments, I was forced to face a lot of fears. When I look back at the lessons I’ve learned I realize what courage really is. A lot of the time it was letting go of ego, being vulnerable, & having an open mind that really made courage possible. I believe the more you face your fears & get to know yourself the easier courage gets. I learned how to share things I learned that I thought were embarrassing or was unsure of in order to learn more. I learned how to ask for help when I really needed it. I learned how to let go of relationships that were not good for me. I learned the value of really helping someone when they need it. I learned all those things because of courage to do so. When someone is really ill or weak or tired courage can be just getting themselves to face the world, it’s definitely a feeling of pushing yourself to a place that’s hard to get to but you know you need to get there in order to be better, or do better."
- Words of Brittany Churchill

HOW WE MET

During an editorial shoot, which I was directing in 2018, I had met Brittany. Her aura magically encapsulated everyone's hearts and she performed with such eloquence (a woman crush for sure) as she modelled within minutes. The south asian attire was no challenge for her while she would pose outdoors in the frost outside. In between changes, Brittany had mentioned not to tie the lengha tightly around her waist and I made sure of that. At the time Brittany was trying to conceive, not knowing just a few moments later her life would change. Brittany was diagnosed with breast cancer and as a Holistic Henna Practitioner I wanted to gift her with a henna crown to encourage her to keep fighting.

Woman warrior Brittany is an incredible human, wife, women's health and wellness advocate, Estee Lauder spokesperson & Zen ambassador. She now lives in Las Vegas with her husband (originally from Toronto) and devotes her time to helping others find their light to great health and the ability to listen to your body when needed.

While having adorned her in her henna crown, we had the chance to document her transitional henna stages through these wonderful photos and made some videos of her transformation, which can be seen here on my IG.

HENNA CROWN

WORDS OF WOMAN:

'Be honest with yourself, question your actions, & practice what’s good for you. Take time for yourself, meditate & gain focus. Speak your truth, practice what you know is right, & continue to keep learning with an open mind. Face your fears, no matter how big or small they may be.'
- Brittany Churchill

Every Wednesday, a woman is reassured with compassion and health. A woman opens her heart and mind to her sisterhood; womanhood. Thank you for being a part of our circle of empowering women. Brittany and I look forward in seeing all of you this week. Please register below to receive the password, love letter activity & e-meet our magical woman of influence as she shares her story.

The Art of SELF-WORTH PROGRAM

EMBRACE
your
        DIVINE POWER
through ART.

Picture

In celebration of working inwards, I have put together a series of workshops that you can take weekly to implement self-compassion, self-care, and attain greater power from your divine power (the light within). Many of us have become prone to understanding the world tangibly. In doing so, we have become distant from our spiritual power and emotional well being. The Holistic Henna Workshop will allow you to discover your truth and encourage your vulnerabilities to surface through your beautiful ART.

My name is Saira Hussain and I am a Holistic Henna Practitioner, Art Director, Women's Stylist & Feminine Power advocate. I do quite a bit on my own and have worked long hours through the art, wedding, women and now wellness community to grow my field of work as not just a Henna Artist but an Art Therapist & Healer (some titles I have been gifted by encouraging loved ones and magical wanderers). Some of my greatest connections have developed through the consultation period of speaking to Brides, new Henna Artists and energy seekers. I am grateful to the multinational publications that have featured my work and my flourishing communities who have given me a platform to share my learnings and experiences.

For this workshop, please bring yourself.

WHY CHOOSE THIS WORKSHOP?

Art is our greatest tool in voicing our emotions and providing them a platform to breathe freely. It is important to build a passion or have a creative outlet (writing, drawing, painting, dancing, poetry) to help declutter our minds and decrease the burden on our bodies. If you are feeling weighed down and are unable to channel your happiness and find joy while facing a mind block in your day, this workshop is for you. If you are someone who used to walk freely and is facing a creative block or feelings of discouragement from your inner voice, this workshop is for you. You do not need an artistic talent to take this workshop; you being human is your best form of creative expression.

Please answer the following questions in your JOUNRAL:

How are you doing today?

In your day, how do you care for your mind, body & soul?

Are you taking care of your mind, body and soul?

How is your mental health?

Are you sleeping well?

Are you finding it hard to voice your emotions?
=

Are you reacting to the noise in your mind?
Are you ready to take control of your life?

Are you ready to use your divine light (your powers)  to see your true reflection?

DESTINY

THE COMPONENTS:

Self-love: The gift of wellbeing, which is delivered to the vessel, spirit and mind by the owner her/himself. You are the owner of your own body, mind and spirit (the Universe has a lot to do with this). Self-love associates with rest, nurturing oneself with empathy and encouragement. Allow yourself to reflect on moments of joy, celebration, the feelings of a loving embrace (even if that was from a stranger).

Self-compassion: The ability to extract self-esteem and the ego so that we are able to connect with our heart and womb space. One of my mentors Dr. Darmoni speaks about the Divine Dance with the self. Encourage yourself to channel your Divine Light by first releasing your day's tasks, simply be here; be with your own breath. When you connect with empathy, you begin to evolve with your heart and your mind begins to propel positive thoughts. In my Holistic Henna workshops, I will be teaching you ways to shift your pain, grief through the creative form of expression. Now pick up your medium (henna, pen, pencil) of choice and write down your words of beauty and fulfillment.

REGISTER NOW:

For more details on our 6 week program, join us for the SELF-WORTH Masterclass in November.

Grieving can be difficult when done alone, which is why Art is made to help you. You will also be learning about how to build your own unique style of work and connecting with your DIVINE LIGHT.

Once you have registered, we will send you a Love Letter to your Self-Worth and a worksheet

LOVE LETTER WORKSHOP

WOMENS WEEK EIGHT - MAY 13th 2020
Host: Saira Hussain of Breath of Henna
Co-host: Cally Grace Tate (Founder of Emotions Therapy, Swimmer & Mind Enthusiast)

Welcome back to our sacred community of women.

You are here because you are experiencing mindfulness.

Thank you for taking the time out to dive deep within your mind.
You are here because you are experiencing mindfulness; an approach that takes patience and the act of slowing down. What reasons must we have to be mindful? Join me and Cally of Emotions Therapy while we share how, we too, are dealing with our emotions through our social platforms and journaling digitally. I have found it challenging to express myself daily through the three Instagram handles that I manage, let alone my life away from social media. I am a single woman show and it's challenging to constantly be engaged and deliver when you open up your mind and heart to explore your own traumas. In doing so, I have developed a stronger connection with my community of women and now, Artists. It's encouraged me to set the tone of love and compassion, but I too become estranged from these feelings that I built my platform from.

As we share our journals, and exploring the world of illustration we have engaged in a conversation with our subconscious mind. Many of us have taken on a new job of DEEP WORK. The ability to sit with your own thoughts is an incredible power and you too are not alone. This period of quarantine has given courage to Cally Tate of Emotions Therapy to revisit her inner child with compassion and education. She is my woman of influence for this week because of her commitment seen in developing a platform of sharing her vulnerabilities, which has allowed thousands of people to express their emotions. Here are some words from Cally:

"I have dealt with my emotions in quarantine with more compassion than usual. This is because right now things are weird. Nothing is normal. This is new for everyone. I open my mind and let it speak. I listen to myself while also teaching my own thoughts. I remind myself that everything I’ve learned will help me get through this.
My platform Emotions Therapy came about after getting out of hospitalization due to my poor mental health at the time. When I was released I knew I had to use my voice. I have always felt something in me made myself unique. So I used this to my advantage. I began right after I got ahold of my phone after coming home from the hospital. I have been posting daily since the beginning because this is also my therapy, outside of having therapy with a therapist. I want to help anyone I can, including myself."
- Words of Cally Tate

We are an ever growing community of women who are built from strength, compassion and have the capacity to adapt to change. As we enter our ninth week of quarantine, I would like to suggest that we all take a moment to appreciate how far we have come. Let us face the patriarchal routines with our Feminine rights and decipher new challenges with solutions for our betterment. We must remember that there is a voice inside us that has been knocking at our door with unconditional love and she has been patient. Let us hear her speak.

'DEAR MIND...'

5-MINUTE WELLNESS ACTIVITY FOR YOU:
From Cally of @emotions_therapy

My 5-minute activity of choice is to sit and play your favourite sound, for example waves or sounds of birds chirping. Then close out any artificial light and noise. Be alone with just yourself for 5 minutes.

This will work best when you wear something that is also comfortable, along with something comfortable to sit on. If you are able to, this can be done outside as well. Sit down in a nice neat comfortable spot. Cross your legs if it is comfortable, if not do what is best for you. Sit up straight.

Before starting grab something to write with and a notebook then write down how you are currently feeling. Next, close your eyes. Rest your hands on your knees. You can do this while sitting on the floor if that is more comfortable. Let go of any tension you have in your body. Just feel the air around you.

Then for the next 5 minutes close your eyes and clear your mind of anything that you ‘need’ to do. Don’t hold any expectation for yourself, just sit in the moment. Once the 5 minutes are over, I want you to write down how you feel after completing your words. Notice the difference or similarities in what you’ve written.

Notice how you feel physically and mentally. Just be in the moment. Where you are connected to the Earth and you are one with your soul.

LOVE LETTER WORKSHOP

WOMENS WEEK SEVEN - MAY 6TH 2020

Direction & Styling: The Silent Lens
Tabia's MUA: Makeup by Trulee
Tabia's Jewelry: Monoxide

Welcome back to our sacred community of women.

You are here because you are experiencing EMPATHY.

Our experiences are decoded with the abilities of emotional intelligence, understanding and connecting with our deeper self. We allow empathy to take the leap of faith when it comes to showing up for a presentation, family & most importantly ourselves. But what happens when a high performing individual transforms into the state of MADRE (Mother)? What challenges does a Mother face while running her own business(s) along with being the leading force in her home? Through this next Love Letter Workshop, I invite my 'woman-icon of the week',

Tabia Charles to share her transformation journey along with her real life experiences of giving birth in times of quarantine. In this time, we are beginning to build relationships with a higher power, a language of love and empathy. My community of women has flourished over the past 6 years with courageous and intuitive creatures; and many have become Mothers. One of the most sacred titles that a woman wears with pride is 'MOTHER'. The womb is a sacred part of the body and holds many spiritual powers. This power goes unseen to so many women who forget to live in the present while chasing their work life routines.

We are an ever growing community of women who are built from strength, compassion and have the capacity to adapt to change. As we enter our eighth week of quarantine, I would like to suggest that we all take a moment to appreciate how far we have come. Let us face the patriarchal routines with our Feminine rights and decipher new challenges with solutions for our betterment. We must remember that there is a voice inside us that has been knocking at our door with unconditional love and she has been patient. Let us hear her speak.

'DEAR MOTHER SPIRIT..'

Picture

How we met:

Tabia Charles Collins & I met through a casting that I had shared with Mothers online for an editorial with Tara Noelle and Dawna Boot in 2018. As an Art Director & Women's Style Advocate, I am always looking to highlight women in their powerful auras. At the time, she was pregnant with her beautiful angel D'Angelo who surprised us that winter. Thank goodness for Instagram or else I would have never connected with this enlightening powerhouse of a woman. Tabia is courageous woman who is devoted to her Feminine light  through many transitions. WOMAN can be seen from her experiences as an Canadian Olympic Athlete to Fashion Designer and now Motivational Speaker. She is a Mother of 2 beautiful children while maintaining her glow. There is something about her aura that compels you to want to know her deeply. Her strong intuition is a delightful gift of insight, shared with all who approach her. She is one of my women of influence and personal favourites when it comes to Styling her Aura. She has trusted me blindly and encourages her community of women with the respect, dedication that they need. Tabia also recently gave birth to beautiful angel Jordy. I cannot wait to meet her.

Tabia and I will be discussing our Maternal instincts, empathy and how we can further build a deeper understanding of our womb power. We will then complete the workshop with a group Love Letter written by yours truly, which you can share with your Spiritual Mother for Mother's Day.

Join us TODAY, Wednesday May 6th at 11:00 a.m ET (Canada & US) by CLICKING JOIN HERE.
