Welcome back to our sacred community of womxn.
You are here today because you are powerful.

As womxn, we have grown while in solitude in deeply connecting with our self-compassion through mindfulness in communication, reflection and with our relationship with the self. We have grown so far in these challenging times of uncertainty with motivation with practices evoked from our beliefs, overcoming grief and accepting that life is uncertain. Life is a product of how we connect with ourselves, and our growth; our progress. To say that we are a 'never going to get over the loss of someone', 'to never have the time to heal', 'that you'll never be pretty enough for love' creates an echo chamber of thoughts which will cause more distress over time. These are all negative thoughts. Where do we then take the space and change our responses to life's most challenging events?

My woman of influence for WEEK 14 is Misriya Jacksi who I met 16 years ago.
A woman who has not only overcome life's hardships with her choice of tools, but a woman who is ever changing and has accepted life for its challenges.

ACCEPTANCE is one of the most difficult transitions that we all have to travel through in reclaiming our strengths. Suffering is also a part of life, and everyone suffers or fails in their life because everyone is human. Misriya is a woman who is brave and is a believer in doing the work for the betterment of one's life. It wasn't until she saw the the love of her life fighting between life and death. Her beautiful 2-month old son Hassan passed away in October 2018.

As a human; a MOTHER she needed time to grieve the loss of her child but also needed to reclaim life's purpose with practicing self-care and self-compassion. I invite Misriya to our sacred space of sisters because she, along with all of you is ready to move forward while she sings the voice of her soul. She has elevated herself recently while taking part in the Biz Mixer on social media, is a fashion designer, and exceptional at home dance choreographer. Her spirit uplifts everyone around her and is my truest friend and sister.

We are an ever growing community of womxn who are built from strength, compassion and have the capacity to adapt to change. As we complete the tenth week of quarantine, I would like to suggest that we all take a moment to appreciate how far we have come. Let us face the patriarchal routines with our feminine powers and decipher new challenges with solutions for our betterment. We must remember that there is a force inside us that has been waiting in our hearts with unconditional love and she has been patient. Let us hear her speak.

'DEAR BREATH..'

Picture

'I am a woman, a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother and a friend. I am a dental hygienist and an entrepreneur. I have a passion for storytelling and recently started my blog, "Storytime with Mish". My dream is to start my own international NGO, "HongeraMama", to empower girls and women all over the world, starting with my home country of Tanzania. I enjoy writing poetry, embarking on spontaneous adventures, laughing with loved ones, daydreaming about a world wherein we live in harmony and celebrate one another for who we are. '
- Misriya Jacksi

5 MINUTE WELLNESS ACTIVITY:
from Misriya

Let’s create a (your name) DreamCloud that carries the elements and values
that create “your world”. I highly encourage that you do this activity when
you are feeling inspired to think about your values.

Instructions:
1) Take a blank sheet of paper and a pen (or many colourful markers!),
2) Draw a pretty “Dream” cloud with lots of room inside to write.
3) Put on your favorite thinking music or go to your favorite spot in the
house to find zen.
4) Write “My world” or “My universe” in the centre. Whichever of these
words resonate with you.
5) This is a “no holds barred” writing exercise where you write as if no one
will ever read this, you write as though there are no barriers or ceilings to
what you can achieve, you write as your most authentic self because in
being truthful to yourself, you will uncover the real you.

6) Start thinking about your values and core beliefs. Think about the things
that make you, you. Write words in the dream cloud that represent the
values you have that you are proud of, as well as the ones you strive to
embody. The idea of this exercise is not to separate the heart and mind,
but to in fact spill out BOTH, what lies in your heart, as well as in your
mind.
7) We as humans are heart and mind. When we use the power of the breath
to center ourselves and align our hearts and minds, our dream clouds
have come to life.
