A love letter from Saira..
Since 2023, Saira has devoted her artistic education and holistic ritual practices to gathering community around her birthday and Valentine’s season—not in celebration of romance, but in reverence for presence. What began during the pandemic as a virtual love letter became, over time, embodied spaces of pause, stillness, and remembrance. Through these gatherings, she has raised over $15,000 in collective care, weaving art and intention into tangible support since 2023. Though she does not believe in Valentine’s Day, she believes deeply in the power of creating sacred spaces—where warmth is created through cultural items, florals as adornment, and where beauty is reclaimed through cultural arts & ancestral traditions. This is where breath softens resistance into devotion. With embroidery, sound, prayer, meditation, and art made with repetitive patterning, she reminds us: when practice is carried with heart, energy, and intention, it can soothe our nervous system — and ritual becomes a daily practice towards embodying clarity in acts of leadership. Join us for a day of restoration with breathwork, meditation, sufi rituals, fateha (prayer over brunch), art therapy workshop, & receive a beautiful portrait of yourself from Kenda Alyakobi.
With your help, Breath of Henna & CO. will be able to support the Village of Hope project to help build affordable shelter for refugees in Ontario. Last year, with the support of her community and allies, she raised $3,000 to help restore a children’s hospital in Northern Gaza; this year, her intention is to restore a sense of safety and security for families in need right here in Ontario. While housing alone cannot heal everything, it is a vital first step toward stability, trust, and collective care. Their goal is to have over 25-50 homes ready over the next 12-15 months inshallah.
To my teams over the last two years, thank you.
This year, we have 2 incredible Palestinian women creators and community builders alongside Saira to raise $5,000 before February 5th with the support of Creators, & sponsors to bring Saira's vision to LIFE in full bloom.
